Terms of use
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Postling is a macOS app published by ComunAI Ltd ("ComunAI", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17081930, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@postling.app.
These terms apply when you download, install or use Postling, including its free trial and beta, and when you buy a licence. Please read them together with our privacy policy and refund policy. If you use Postling for your own household, you are a consumer. If you buy or use it for a business, including a Teams licence, section 12 also applies.
2. Your licence
When you buy Postling, we give you a licence to use it. You don't buy the software itself, and we keep all rights in it. The licence is personal to the people it names, worldwide, and doesn't expire, unless it ends under section 13.
- Postling: one person, on up to two Macs they use, for home or work.
- Household: up to five people who live together, each on up to two Macs of their own.
- Teams: the number of people your organisation paid for, each on up to two Macs. A seat can move to someone else when a person leaves.
Each person can connect up to three Gmail or Google Workspace accounts, unless your licence says otherwise. Every licence includes every feature. Your licence's limits are shown in Postling under Settings → Licence.
3. Free trial and beta
- Trial. You can use Postling free for 14 days with up to three accounts. When the trial ends, Postling stops sorting until you add a licence. Nothing on your Mac or in your Gmail is deleted.
- Beta. Beta keys are free, are for the person invited, and stop working on the date shown in the key, currently 31 December 2026. Beta versions are unfinished: they may change, break or lose features, and are provided as they are. Please don't share the beta download link or your key.
- Feedback. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Postling without owing you anything for them. Feedback sent from the app never includes the content of your emails.
4. Updates
- Each licence includes updates for one year from the date of purchase. Founding licences include two years.
- Every version released during that period is yours to keep. When it ends, Postling keeps working; it just won't install newer versions.
- After that, you can renew updates for a further year at the price shown on our website, currently £29 a year per person or £45 for a household. Renewing is optional.
- Postling depends on macOS, on Apple's on-device AI and on Gmail. If Apple or Google change them, an older version may stop working, and we can't promise that every version will run on future versions of macOS. We aim to keep Postling working through updates.
- Postling checks postling.app for updates once a day and installs them only when your licence covers them. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
5. Your licence key
- Your licence comes as a key that Postling checks on your Mac, without contacting us. Keep it safe: you'll need it if you reinstall.
- The key is for the people your licence names. Don't publish it, share it or sell it.
- We may cancel a key that has been refunded, charged back, bought fraudulently or shared beyond its licence. Postling downloads a short list of cancelled keys when it checks for updates. A cancelled key stops Postling sorting; nothing on your Mac or in your Gmail is deleted.
6. What you may not do
- Copy, sell, rent, lend or redistribute Postling or its keys, except as your licence allows.
- Get around the licence checks, or change, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it despite this term.
- Use Postling to break the law, to access email accounts you aren't entitled to use, or to send spam.
7. Your email, your accounts and other services
- You must have the right to connect each account you add to Postling. Your use of Gmail stays subject to Google's terms, and your Mac to Apple's.
- In Gmail, Postling adds and removes its own labels, archives emails it judges don't need you and marks them read. It sends your briefing from your account to you and to any recipients you choose. It never deletes your email.
- If you turn on TypeSafe, you use it under your own TypeSafe account and its terms. TypeSafe is a separate company, and we aren't responsible for its service.
- If you turn on calendar dates, Postling adds events to the calendars you choose. Check important dates against the original email.
8. AI makes mistakes: please check its work
Postling uses AI to decide which emails need you, what to put in your briefing and which dates matter. It is usually right, but not always. It can file an email that needed you, miss a date or summarise something wrongly.
- Emails Postling files are archived with its labels, never deleted, so you can always find them in Gmail. Postling lists the decisions it's least sure about under Review, so you can check them first.
- Please glance at what Postling files, especially at first, and move anything it gets wrong. It learns from what you move.
- Don't rely on Postling alone for emails where a miss would cause serious harm, such as medical, legal, safety or payment deadlines.
9. Buying a licence
- Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payment, VAT, invoices, customer service enquiries about orders, and returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase.
- Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Every order comes with a VAT invoice from Paddle.
- Your licence key is emailed to you and opens in Postling straight away.
10. Refunds and cancelling
You can have a full refund within 14 days of buying a licence or renewing updates, with no need to give a reason. See the refund policy. You also have your rights under consumer law, described in section 11.
11. Our responsibility to you if you're a consumer
- Postling must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it isn't, you're entitled to have it fixed or replaced. If that isn't possible, you're entitled to some or all of your money back. You can find out more at Citizens Advice.
- If Postling damages your device or other digital content because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or compensate you.
- We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We aren't responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses: Postling is for personal and household use under a consumer licence.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
12. If you use Postling for a business
- Section 11 doesn't apply to you. The things you can rely on are set out in these terms, and other warranties and conditions are excluded as far as the law allows.
- We aren't liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you under or in connection with these terms is limited to the amount you paid for Postling in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Ending your licence
- You can stop using Postling at any time: choose Disconnect in Settings, then delete the app and its data.
- We can end your licence if you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing your key publicly. We'll tell you why. When a licence ends, you must stop using Postling.
- If we ever stop selling Postling, the versions you're entitled to keep working, as far as Apple and Google allow.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we change our plans or when the law changes. We'll post the new version on this page with a new date. Changes don't take away what you've already paid for: the licence and updates you bought remain yours.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there. If you live in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and can bring proceedings there. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at hello@postling.app: we'd much rather put it right.
